

Svět rovnátek now the largest clinic offering invisible braces. Every year, it treats thousands of patients, and doctors from all over the world come to see how it operates! But that certainly wasn’t always the case. Success doesn’t come easy, and the early days were tough. Join us as we take a look back at its history.
Matúš Valach and Daniele Mastracci originally had completely different ideas about the future. Instead of pursuing graduate studies in psychology and working in a corporate setting, an opportunity arose to take over the failing company ROD a.s., which had been supplying orthodontic materials since 2008. Daniele and Matúš brought a breath of fresh air, fresh ideas, and proposals for innovation to this traditional family business.
A few years passed during which the company was just barely getting by. But it was clear that a major change was needed. It was a big leap into the unknown. A very risky one. But as was later confirmed, Matúš and Daniele aren’t afraid of risky and unconventional ideas. And that’s how Svět rovnátek came to be.
Thanks to the transition from a company that supplied dental supplies, equipping the orthodontic clinic wasn’t a major problem. However, you probably wouldn’t recognize the Bohdalec office from back then compared to the one today. The clinic started out very gradually with fixed braces, one doctor, and two nurses who also served as receptionists.
But then came another step outside my comfort zone: partnering with Spark, a company that manufactures invisible braces. At the time, however, invisible braces were not yet very well known in the Czech Republic. It was therefore necessary to introduce the public to this method of teeth straightening.
In our first year, we treated just under 50 patients. However, we saw potential in orthodontics that would have been a shame to waste. So we decided to leverage the latest technologies on the market and invest in marketing. It paid off—the very next year, we treated over 300 patients, and the following year, that number tripled.
Digital marketing wasn’t very common in the field of orthodontics, so this innovation gave us a major competitive advantage and helped raise brand awareness among the general public. Interest grew, and with it came the need for further changes and improvements. It was clear that 15 people wouldn’t be enough to handle the influx of clients, and that the space itself needed a makeover. And that’s exactly what happened. We purchased new equipment, brought in additional specialists, and learned to work with new technologies. Continuous improvement and the exploration of new methods were already part of our DNA back then. That’s also why we were one of the few in our field to bring in a marketing agency. This was followed by the adoption of 3D printing, an expansion of our facilities, and the opening of a second branch in Brno.

Another major step was establishing a partnership with Invisalign, the manufacturer of clear aligners. This partnership was (and still is) highly unique and continues to this day. We are not merely a customer of invisible aligners; thanks to our specific approach and scale, we have become more of a partner. We collaborate with Invisalign to improve the actual production of aligners, as well as planning software, applications, and other enhancements. Representatives from Invisalign were captivated by how Svět rovnátek operates, as well as by its size and open-space clinic layout. They became interested in procedures and processes they had not previously encountered in the field of orthodontics. They came to visit us to observe and draw inspiration. And that was just a small step toward founding the LABS1503 Academy.
Since then, hundreds of doctors from around the world have been visiting us every year to draw inspiration from our clinic. Through our Academy, we offer educational programs on a wide range of topics, speak at leading international conferences, and have organized countless webinars and workshops. We firmly believe that know-how should be shared and that healthcare as a whole should move forward. And we’re glad to be a part of this progress!

We wanted to perfect the smile. That’s why our next step was to open our DENTALABS clinic, which specializes in cosmetic dentistry, including teeth whitening and dental veneers. Thanks to dental veneers, we can create a truly perfect smile in as little as a week!
In addition, we can now fix minor cavities and handle fillings and crowns.
Part of this initiative also involved acquiring new premises in Prague’s Holešovice district, where we were able to establish not only modern DENTALABS dental offices but also our beautiful administrative offices and space for additional clinics.
In addition to the story of Svět rovnátek, the story of our parent company, LABS1503, began to unfold. Under its umbrella, the ALPHALABS testosterone therapy clinic for men was established, as well as Fyzio svět, which specializes in temporomandibular joint issues, among other things, and is therefore also available to our Svět rovnátek clients.
As you’ve probably gathered from our story, we’re big on innovation and constantly improving our processes and efficiency. That’s one of the reasons we started using a new product on the market at the time— Virtual Care. Virtual Care allowed Svět rovnátek clients to manage their regular check-ups from the comfort of their own homes, using the My Invisalign app and the simple Invisalign Lens spreader. Clients don’t have to travel to the clinic; instead, they carefully take photos of their teeth every week and send them for review via the app. This gives us a constant overview of the treatment progress, and we can detect any irregularities even faster. At the same time, it saves our clients a lot of time and energy.
The services provided at all our clinics are based on the latest scientific findings and utilize state-of-the-art technology. From the very beginning, we have been committed to staying ahead of the curve and closely monitoring market developments. For years now, we have been using 3D scans and dental visualization during our no-obligation consultations. In recent years, we have been able to use Smile Architect to perfect these visualizations, allowing us to present clients with treatment options for braces and the potential use of dental veneers.
We have specialists who handle treatment planning. Our team of 3D technicians uses software to plan every tooth movement with accuracy down to a hundredth of a millimeter. This allows us to know in advance exactly how and where the teeth should move.
We don’t have a traditional, cramped clinic layout; instead, we have a large, bright open space. This allows our experienced floor managers to guide clients to the right chairs, while the entire team of specialists can see what’s happening throughout the clinic at a glance. Everything has its designated place next to each chair, so doctors and nurses know exactly where to find everything, no matter which chair or client they’re attending to.
As a result, all processes run quickly and efficiently.
And that’s how we got here. From a failing business (with a shipping container in the backyard instead of a warehouse) to the world’s largest provider of invisible braces!
To date, we have put a smile on the faces of more than 20,000 clients.
