We’re delighted when you book an appointment at Svět rovnátek. But naturally, you’ll start wondering what to expect at the clinic. So you don’t have to go in thinking, “I’ll just grit my teeth and get through whatever they throw at me,” we’ve put together a rough outline of what the initial consultation looks like:
We’ve noticed that some of our clients start to panic the day before their appointment and wonder what they need to bring. You don’t need to bring anything you don’t normally carry with you. The most important thing is to think about why you’re coming to Svět rovnátek.
It’s best to bring your insurance card so we can verify your personal information. We take an X-ray during the initial examination, but if you have a panoramic X-ray from a recent visit to your dentist, you can bring it with you and we’ll use that one.
We are primarily interested in what you hope to achieve through treatment. For most patients, the main motivation is a beautiful smile, but perceptions of what that entails can vary. Some patients opt for comprehensive orthodontic treatment of both jaws, while others are concerned only with the appearance of their upper jaw; still others are satisfied with treatment of just the front teeth. This determines not only the final cost but also the appearance. Sometimes even the most basic treatment plan can make a significant difference, but in some cases, it would result in a visible mismatch between the treated and untreated parts of the teeth.
In most cases , the entire consultation takes no longer than an hour, including scanning and taking photos. It’s not so much that we can cover absolutely everything in that time—orthodontics is simply too fascinating a field for that. However, in our experience, this is the ideal amount of time to keep your attention and, at the same time, convey the most essential information, which you can use to assess the resulting facts. You should also factor in an hour in the waiting room, which you can pass more quickly with a free cup of coffee.
If you prefer to drive, we have private parking at our clinics in Prague and Brno, though space is limited. If you prefer public transportation, the nearest bus stop in Prague is Bohdalec, which is a 10-minute walk from the clinic. In Brno, the nearest stops are Strážní and Bidláky, both of which are a five-minute walk from Svět rovnátek.
